Bespoke Intervari Kitchens

An Intervari kitchen is drawn for your room, not chosen from a catalogue. We work out how you cook, store and gather, then design cabinetry that fits the walls, ceilings and awkward corners you actually have.

The furniture is made at our joinery workshop on Shakespeare Industrial Estate in Watford, so the people designing your kitchen and the people building it are under one roof. That keeps London and Hertfordshire homes close to the workbench, and it means you are welcome to come and see your kitchen being made.

What's included in a bespoke kitchen

We look after the kitchen from first sketch to final adjustment. A typical project covers:

• A home survey — measuring your room properly, checking services, floors and levels before anything is drawn.
• Design drawings — plans and elevations so you can see the layout, the storage and how the room will feel.
• Cabinetry made in our Watford workshop — carcasses, doors, drawers and any special pieces built for your space.
• Worktops — templated and specified to suit the design and the way you use the kitchen.
• Appliance planning — sizes, positions and the space around them agreed early, so nothing has to be forced in later.
• Fitting — installation by people who know how the furniture was built.

The exact scope is set out in your quotation, so you can see what is included and what sits with your builder.

How it works, step by step

1. First meeting. Talk through the room, how you want to use it, and the look you have in mind. Bring plans, photographs or a rough idea — all are useful.
2. Survey and design. We measure at your home, then produce drawings and material suggestions for you to react to. Changes at this stage are normal.
3. Sign-off. When the drawings, finishes and appliances are agreed, we confirm the specification and the price before anything is made.
4. Making in the workshop. Your cabinetry is built in Watford. You are welcome to visit and see it in progress.
5. Installation. Our fitters install the kitchen, working to the agreed sequence with your builder or contractor.
6. Aftercare. Doors and drawers settle. If something needs adjusting after fitting, you call us — the same team, not a call centre.

How we price a kitchen

Every kitchen is different, so we don't publish a price list. The cost depends on the size of the room, the number and type of cabinets, the materials and finishes you choose, the worktop, and how much specialist joinery is involved.

After the first meeting we can give you a realistic idea of the range your project sits in. Once the survey and drawings are done, you get a written quotation with the specification set out, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

If a design fee applies to your project, we will tell you what it covers and how it is treated before you commit to anything.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the design and how quickly decisions are made. Design and drawings come first, then making in the workshop, then fitting. We give you a programme with dates once the design is signed off, so you can plan around your builder.

Can you work alongside my builder or architect?

Yes. We regularly work with builders, architects and interior designers, and we plan the fitting to suit the wider programme — first fix, plastering, flooring and services all need to line up. Tell us who is involved at the first meeting and we will speak to them directly.

Is the furniture really made in your own workshop?

Yes. Our joinery workshop is at Unit 5A, Shakespeare Industrial Estate, Shakespeare Street, Watford WD24 5RR, and you are welcome to visit and see the work in progress.

What materials and finishes can I have?

Because the cabinetry is made for you, there is a wide choice of timbers, painted finishes and worktop materials. We'll show you samples at the showroom in Watford and recommend what suits your room, your budget and how hard the kitchen will be worked.

Can I change my mind about the design?

Changes are expected while we're drawing — that's what the design stage is for. Once you have signed off the drawings and we start making, changes become harder and can affect cost and dates, so we take time to get the sign-off right.

How much mess will there be at home?

Because the cabinetry is built at the workshop, most of the cutting and finishing happens in Watford rather than in your house. Fitting still means people, tools and deliveries on site, so we agree access, protection and timings with you and your builder beforehand.
